Customs: The duty free allowance covers 1 quart of liquor, 200 cigarettes/50 cigars, and gifts up to TT$1200

International dialing code is 1 (North America, Canada and much of the Caribbean) or 011 (other countries, including Haiti, Cuba and the Dutch and French Caribbean)

Water: Tobago water is safe to drink. Bottled mineral waters widely available.

Commercial: 0800-1630 Mon.-Fri, 0800-1200 Sat (most malls stay open later and all day Saturday)

Banks: 0800-1400 Mon.-Thu, 0800-1200 and 1500-1700 Fri (with some local variations)

Government: 0800-1200, 1300-1630 Mon.-Fri.
